Description

D-1 FC - Phoenix Monsoon 6:0 (4:0)
SUASL Soccer Match (fall season; round 3)

won, me 3 goals, 2 assists

Early morning 8 AM game. They had few players and one of them got injured as well. Trent, who arrived later, played for them. He was active and ran a lot, but it was not enough to score a goal.

I also played about 15 minutes in the next game. They were short of players. I did not want to, but they asked for help. It worked out well for me after all, since it switched my Training Status from MAINTAINING to PRODUCTIVE :)

Note

Right at the start, their goalkeeper made a poor clearance and passed it to me. I sent it toward the goal, but a defender cleared it. It did not take long, and they made another mistake in the buildup, which I punished, and we were up 1:0. I had a bunch of shots on goal after that: first an extended cross, which I switched well to my left foot, but overshot the goal. Then I went from the side towards the goal but hit it into the side net.

Our second goal was scored by Erick after a smart backpass from Max. Max also scored a goal: I passed him through so that he went one-on-one with the goalkeeper and comfortably finished into the empty net. Mike also had a chance, but he hit the post. From the rebound, I overshot the goal and also got kicked in the right thigh as a bonus. I was already starting to think I was unlucky, but just before halftime I got to a bounced ball in the box, and after a little dribble I finished under the crossbar.

Max and Mike left at halftime, so our performance degraded a bit. Charlie joined me in attack, and then was substituted for Frank. I assisted his goal: he finished my shot, which the goalie pushed in front of him. I also completed my hattrick. Jason delivered a cross to the near post, which I redirected into the goal. Jason played up front towards the end. He really wanted to score. He had about three chances, like a close-range header or my pass directly into the box, but he hit the post. The goal just was not meant for him that day.

Towards the end, it turned into an anarchy. Everyone was going forward, and everyone wanted to score. The defense practically did not exist, so I had to run back there a lot. I had several duels with Trent. They combined well, but they were not meant to score a goal either. Luis (goalie) made excellent saves. Also, I poked away one sitter from them at the last moment.
