Pickup football at Drew's Place

I played football yesterday, and my legs were a bit sore from all the running. However, since I am departing the USA soon, I decided to go play at Drew's house tonight to say a proper goodbye to all my friends there.

It was a nice evening, and on the way home, I sent Drew a donation for all the games I played this season on his well-kept field. I guess his rule "turfs-only" really did help.

We started as the black team against the white team until the green team formed. As usual, I scored the first goal. Then Drew started his clock, and the regular game began. We were losing 1:0, but Alazar scored the tying goal in the very last minute. It was rock-paper-scissors that determined who would stay on the field, which we eventually lost. My objection was that we won the previous game with my goal, which was not counted.

Our performance on that evening was mixed. I did not play particularly well, due to fatigue from yesterday. I scored another goal from the half of the field to the empty net. So, only two goals for me on that evening. But I have passed Alex on two goals and Alazar on another one. Chris played with us, and he was doing well, considering he had not played for a long time.

In the green team, there was Charlie with his son, Nico. In one game, Nico hit the crossbar, then shortly after scored a 1:0 goal off a deflection. When the white team opened the defense, he scored a beautiful goal over the goalie, setting up the final score of 2:0. Great performance from Nico!

With Chris and Michael, we did the VMO extension exercise while on the bench. Then we played the final game to 3 against the white team. We beat them 3:0. I guess that VMO really does help:)
